I am committed to lowering food costs and making fresh, high-quality groceries more affordable for all families in Don Valley West.

Fuel and transportation costs

I will work to reduce fuel and transportation costs by advocating for improved public transit options

I will work to reduce fuel and transportation costs by advocating for improved public transit options, including expanded bus and subway routes, increased frequency of service, and affordable fare programs. By leveraging innovative technologies and fostering public-academic partnerships, we can develop smart transit solutions such as real-time tracking, mobile ticketing, and optimized routing systems. These advancements will enhance the efficiency and reliability of our transit network.

Additionally, investing in electric and alternative fuel vehicles will not only reduce emissions but also lower operational costs in the long run. By promoting accessible and efficient transit, we can ease the financial burden on families, foster environmental sustainability, decrease traffic congestion, and improve the overall quality of life in Don Valley West. These improvements will ensure that everyone can access job opportunities, education, and essential services without the added stress of high transportation costs

Post-secondary costs and loans

I will advocate for reducing post-secondary education costs and reforming student loan programs to make education more affordable.

I will advocate for reducing post-secondary education costs and reforming student loan programs to make education more affordable in Ontario. This includes working to increase funding for colleges and universities, which will help lower tuition fees and ensure that students receive a high-quality education without excessive financial burden. I will also support the expansion of grants and scholarships that target underrepresented groups, ensuring that every student has equal access to educational opportunities.

Additionally, I will push for a comprehensive review of existing student loan programs to make them more equitable and manageable, including reducing or cancelling interest rates and offering flexible repayment options based on income. By collaborating with educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations, we can create a more supportive financial environment for students, allowing them to focus on their studies rather than overwhelming debt. Ultimately, my goal is to empower the next generation with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed without being constrained by financial barriers.

Poverty

I will implement policies that promote economic growth, create sustainable job opportunities, and break the cycle of poverty
