Government spending
Alberta has overpaid into the federal equalization program a staggering $ 83 billion dollars, 2007 to 2025. PPC believes that some if not all of that money should be returned to Alberta in the form of infrastructure developments. Fort McMurray and our oil sand are the key economic driver of the Canadian Economy. Fort McMurray and Cold Lake are the gateway to the north, Canada economic engine and are strategically positioned in Canada from a national security perspective. PPC believes that Fort McMurray should have an International Airport with a 2nd runway of over 10,000 ft. to accommodate wide body transport planes for both commercial, domestic and national security.
PPC also believes its not too much to ask the federal government for funding, to twin Hwy 28 from Hwy 63 to Edmonton. And build a paved Hwy designated as a heavy haul corridor from Fort McMurray to Grande Prairie, and the Peace region. We believe investments like this are common sense and in the best interest of Alberta and Canada in such uncertain global times. Theses investments are compatible with the PPC Plan to increase Canada’s military budget to 3% of GDP. Elections are about choices. The movement of goods, especially food and agricultural products are vital within Canada.
