Bill Dowe has spent his entire life in Cumberland County, deeply committed to his community as a husband, father, and grandfather. A self-employed business owner for over 37 years, Bill understands the vital role small businesses play in strengthening local economies. His extensive experience includes serving 8 years on the Board of the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, where he currently holds the position of past president, and more recently joining the board of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to his business acumen, Bill has a long history of community service. He served for 21 years with the Truckers Association of Nova Scotia and led the Cumberland County Truckers Association as president for five years. For the past five years, Bill has also been a dedicated board member of the Tidnish Crossroads Community Association. 

Bill's commitment to giving back is further exemplified through his co-coordination of the Bordertown Working Truck Show and Shine, this annual event that has raised over $27,000 for Special Olympics Amherst, and his participation in truck convoys supporting Special Olympics in both Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

This fall, Bill will proudly present the 30th annual Chris Dowe Memorial Scholarship to a deserving 4H student pursuing a career in agriculture, reflecting his dedication to fostering the next generation. Bill's decades of business leadership, his passion for volunteerism, and his deep roots in Cumberland North have uniquely prepared him to advocate for a stronger, healthier community. He is committed to working collaboratively with all levels of government to reduce barriers, support entrepreneurs, and enhance the well-being of the region.
