Sameer Qureshi is your NDP candidate for Markham–Unionville.

Born and raised at the border of Markham–Unionville, Sameer has deep roots in the community he calls home.

As a third-year Software Engineering student at Ontario Tech University, Sameer understands firsthand the challenges young Canadians are facing — from the rising cost of living, to the barriers in accessing affordable education and healthcare.

He has remained committed to community service, working with seniors in hospice care and volunteering in initiatives that bring people together.

Sameer was inspired to step into politics by his father, who is running in the federal election as the NDP candidate for Markham–Thornhill. Growing up, he saw the importance of standing up for fairness, compassion, and opportunity for all — values that continue to drive his passion for public service today.

Sameer is running because he believes Markham–Unionville deserves a representative who will fight for affordable housing, better healthcare, good jobs, and a future where no one is left behind.

As your MP, he will commit building a more affordable, caring, and inclusive future for everyone. He is ready to bring fresh energy, a strong voice, and real change to Ottawa.
