As a storyteller, a 10th-generation African Nova Scotian, and proud descendant of the Black Loyalists, I carry a legacy of resilience, courage, and hope in everything I do.

I’m running to represent Sackville–Bedford–Preston because I believe our community deserves a bold, compassionate voice in Ottawa — someone who understands our struggles and is ready to fight for our future. As a storyteller, a 10th-generation African Nova Scotian, and proud descendant of the Black Loyalists, I carry a legacy of resilience, courage, and hope in everything I do.

I’m a filmmaker who creates impactful documentaries that spotlight the lived experiences of African Nova Scotians, mental health, and systemic inequality. My work has earned national recognition, including being named one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 30 Under 30 Innovators for advancing mental well-being in our communities. In 2024, I had the honour of standing for Preston as a provincial candidate. Now, I’m ready to take that fight to the federal level.

I’ve heard from seniors choosing between heating their homes and buying groceries, from young people drowning in debt, and from families without access to childcare or adequate housing. These are not just policy issues — they’re deeply human ones. And they require leaders who listen, act, and lead with empathy and conviction. My vision is a Canada where everyone — regardless of their background — feels seen, heard, and valued.

I’m running for Parliament because I believe it’s time to build a Canada that works for everyone — a country where equity, sustainability, and justice are not just ideals, but realities. If elected, I will fight for:

Guaranteed Livable Income: Everyone deserves the dignity of financial security. A guaranteed livable income would lift people out of poverty, support caregivers, artists, and entrepreneurs, and create a stronger foundation for economic resilience in every community.

Arts, Culture, and Heritage: Our stories matter. I will champion increased investment in Canadian arts and culture, including proper funding for the CBC, which plays a vital role in reflecting our diverse voices — especially in underrepresented regions and communities.

Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples: True reconciliation means respecting Indigenous sovereignty, and implementing the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It also means honouring treaty rights and investing in Indigenous languages, education, and land stewardship.

Healthcare Expansion: Healthcare must meet people where they are. I will advocate for mental health care to be treated as health care, with culturally grounded services embedded in every community. I’ll also push for stronger disability supports that honour independence and dignity, better home and long-term care options for our seniors, and universal dental care so no one has to choose between their health and their wallet.

Indigenous-led Climate Action & Environmental Justice: Indigenous communities have long been stewards of this land. I support Indigenous-led climate strategies, land and water protection initiatives, and investments in clean energy that centre justice, sustainability, and intergenerational equity.

Nova Scotians are tired of being overlooked by systems that feel disconnected from our everyday realities. I’m running because it’s time to change that. I’m running for those who’ve never seen themselves in politics, for those told to wait their turn, and for those who know that real change only comes when we stand together. I’m here to be that voice.

Let’s create a future rooted in justice, care, and possibility — where every voice is heard and every story matters. The work begins now, and I’m ready to do it with you. Let’s build it together.
